Independence Day Parade - Ripley, WV - 2020

Known as the “USA’s Largest Small Town Independence Day Celebration”, the Ripley 4th of July Celebration dates back to the late 1800’s. It is the oldest parade and oldest Independence Day Celebration in West Virginia. The population of Ripley explodes for the Grand Parade and the various activities held through the day. A vintage photo from that era once published in the Jackson Herald newspaper showed decorated horses, wagons, and riders parading down Court Street in Ripley.

The 2020 4th of July will be a little different than in years past. Viewers are asked to please respect others and stay safe! The sidewalks will be marked to allow for social distancing during the parade. The entertainment on both July 3rd and July 4th will be on the stage located at the West Side Plaza (formerly known as Heck's Plaza) on Academy Drive. All entertainment will be drive-in style. Fans will be able to park and watch the concerts from their vehicles.
