Mill Creek Metro Park, Youngstown, OH - 2015
"Over the river and through the woods..." to some of the most beautiful gardens, lakes, ponds, cascades and historic structures to be found in one spot.
Lanterman's Mill, a landmark of the pioneers life. Step into the past, and observe the early production of meal and flour, smell the aroma of the freshly ground grains. Capture the images of the past into photographs of the present!
The Fellows Riverside Gardens color the grounds of Mill Creek Metroparks almost year round. We expect to see daffodils, tulips, and so many more. Blues, greens, yellows...orange, pink, red. All the colors of the rainbow, in one place, for our Excursion to Ohio.
Mill Creek Metroparks is home to over 200 bird species. We will see everything from butterfies to bald eagles! Herons in the ponds, songbirds in the trees, and eagles in their nests. The Newport Wetlands host additional waterfowl, songbirds, herons, and osprey, and we will watch for muskrat and beavers swimming near Smythe Island.
