Governor's Presentation to Sissonville VFD
Charleston Auto's Garage on Route 21 in Sissonville was the setting for a presentation from acting Governor Earl Ray Tomblin. Chief Tom Johnson, Chief of the Sissonville Volunteer Fire Department, accepted a $150,000 check from Gov. Tomblin, to be used towards the construction of their replacement fire station. Sissonville's Fire Station was destroyed by fire on October 1, 2010. Since then, Charleston Auto has donated one of the bays of their garage to house a borrowed fire engine. Tom Miller, Board Secretary, told reporters that the Department has not missed one emergency call in the meantime.
